mstrike
According to Simutronics in the news article posted on 6/6/00, the Mstrike verb was implimented.
Mstrike is a combat skill utilizing Multi-Opponents combat training. Individuals who have sufficient training in Multi-Opponent combat skills will be able to strike many targets in one swing. In cases of those who are truly adept in the skill, they can focus their attention unto a single target and unleash a barrage of strikes.
Q: How many ranks do I need to make Mstrike work?
A: 5 ranks to be able to use the skill to hit 2 opponents and every 5 ranks after that will add the ability to hit one more critter.
Q: How is round time figured up for multi opponent strikes?
A: You are assessed the base RT of the weapon (plus other sundries). This base RT is multiplied by the number of attacks you actually performed minus 1 (limited by the maximum skill allowance).
There are pro's and cons in having the multi strike ability. Based on the base rt of your weapon which has alot to do with the weight of your weapon, and the more critters you can hit depending on your trainings the more rt you will have.
you see the trend this has until one hits 40 ranks and can get the second targetted swing in.
Another con is that you can't choose how many of critters you hit. if there are 4 critters in the room, and you have 15 or more ranks, you will hit all 4 critters.
Q: When can I target multiple hits on one critter?
A: Starting at 40 ranks you will be able to get 2 targeted hits on one critter, at 60 ranks you can get in 3, and 80 ranks you can get in 4 shots... etc.
Multi opponent combat is a skill that with more skill you have the more you have to choose wisely on when and how to use it. Especially with the heavier weapons.

What if I hadn't killed that spider? With a 20 second rt, from falchion swinging at those 5 critters, a spider could have easily had me mummified in webs and left me a much easier target for the other critters. Sometimes it may be wise to choose not to use this skill in deadly swarms or other situations.
On the other hand, look at this dagger.... doesn't hit as hard but I can swing it really fast because it's light.

A tiger claw would be about as fast because it also has a base rt of 1.
All in all I think it's a fun and useful, (not to mention impressive) skill to have if you choose your weapons and situations wisely. Have fun with it!
